Whatever your requirements Frederick Charles Art can offer a large choice of both ‘Classical’ and ‘Contemporary’ designs plus aluminium frames. Mouldings from our natural plain wood range, including many sizes and profiles in natural oak, can be hand finished in the workshop in a variety of ways such as basic wax, limed, stained or painted. Beech and ash are also available.

Within our range of hand finished wooden frames we offer frames that are specifically suitable for stretched canvas’ or dry mounted pictures; tray frames, and frames that are specifically suitable for three dimensional objects with some depth; box frames. We also have a selection of aluminium and pre-finished wooden frames for a low cost option. All our moulding is machine cut for maximum precision and joined using proven methods and techniques that offer maximum strength and protection, this includes using specialist glues, pins, nails, screws and dowels. each profile and type of wood is joined depending on its own characteristics to minimise the risk hair line cracks developing in the corners.

GLASS

In addition to standard reflective and diffused (non reflective) glazing we can offer various types of UV resistant / museum glass to help provide protection for your artwork from the effects of exposure to Ultra Violet light.

ACRYLIC PLASTIC GLASS

Clear cast: Acrylic is a good quality, lightweight and shatter-resistant glazing material. Ideal for the larger frame or where safety is a consideration. Excellent colour accuracy. Available in 2mm and 3mm.

UV Control: Lightweight and shatter-resistant glazing material. Ideal for the larger frame or where safety is a consideration. Excellent colour accuracy with UV control. Available in 2mm and 3mm.

UV control and abrasion resistant: It is very difficult to scratch while being able to withstand larger impacts than glass. It’s other benefits include it being light weight, free from splinters and a much reduced level of static compared to other types of plastic glazing. It has UV filters and is available in 3mm.
